There are many different trends in tee shirts. Why were there so many different styles of the tee shirt? What were the reasons and benefits for these different trends?
Crew neck: a crew neck tee shirt has a round neckline and no collar. The crew neck was created in 1932 used as an undergarment to absorb sweat for football players to prevent skin irritation. The United States Navy out of the United States armed forces was the first to utilize the crew neck tee shirt.
Scoop neck: the scoop neck tee shirts has a scoop-shape neckline that is lower then a regular tee shirt. The scoop neck can vary in degrees of the scoop-shape neckline, many of the lower scoop necklines are worn by women to show varying amount of cleavage.
Muscle shirt: A muscle shirt is a sleeveless tee shirt mainly worn by body builders in the 80′s, therefore the name “muscle shirt”. These tee shirts are popular to wear during athletic activities, basketball and track and field being two of the sports. The neck and armholes of the muscle shirt are reinforced for durability and comfort.
